Cozy Fall Coffee and Tea: Our Picks for Cooler Days

Cozy Fall Coffee and Tea: Our Picks for Cooler Days

A quick note from Paul and Danielle

When the weather starts to turn cold, we both reach for something warm, just not the same thing.

For me, it's flavored coffee. Dubai Chocolate is one of my favorites, and Chocolate Hazelnut is right there with it. There's something about a chocolatey cup on a chilly morning that just feels right.

Danielle isn't much of a hot coffee drinker, but the minute it cools off she's all about hot tea. She loves the classics like Earl Grey, but lately she's been branching out, and her new favorites are teas with a little cinnamon in them.

So whether you're on Team Coffee, Team Tea, or a little of both like our house, here are our picks for the season.

Why fall is flavored coffee season

Fall is the perfect time to try a flavored coffee. The mornings are crisp, the days are shorter, and a cup that tastes a little like dessert makes the whole day feel cozier.

Our flavored coffees are small batch roasted and naturally flavored, so you can enjoy them black or dress them up with your favorite cream.

Paul's picks: chocolate lovers, start here

Dubai Chocolate
A blend of single origin coffee, lightly flavored for a mild, smooth chocolate cup. It's rich without being heavy, and it has a warmth to it that's perfect for fall.

Chocolate Hazelnut
For when you can't decide between hazelnut and mocha. It's a medium roast with a mild chocolate flavor and a little nutty sweetness. It makes a great dessert coffee, but it's smooth enough to drink every day.

More fall favorites to try

If you want to go all in on fall, these are the flavors that taste like the season:

  • Pumpkin Spice: the classic. If you like pumpkin spice anything, this one is for you.
  • Pecan Pie: a cozy, nutty cup that's perfect after dinner.
  • Cinnamon Hazelnut: warm cinnamon with smooth hazelnut, a great middle ground if you're new to flavored coffee.
  • Cinnabun: sweet and cinnamony, like a bakery in a mug.
  • Turtle and Caramel: for anyone with a sweet tooth.

Danielle's picks: tea for cool evenings

Earl Grey
A true classic. Black tea with the bright, citrusy flavor of bergamot. It's Danielle's go-to and a great place to start if you're new to tea.

Apple Cider Rooibos
This is the one that got Danielle hooked on cinnamon tea. It's spicy and sweet, with cinnamon, orange peel and natural spices, and it's naturally caffeine free, so it's perfect for a cozy evening.

Masala Chai
Bold, spicy and full-bodied. Brew it strong and serve it the traditional way with milk and a little sugar, or enjoy it on its own.

A few cozy tips

  • Make a quick chai latte. Brew Masala Chai a little stronger than usual, then add warm milk and a touch of honey or sugar.
  • Try a coffee and tea flight. Make small cups of two or three flavors and taste them side by side. It's a fun way to find a new favorite, especially with friends or family.
  • Pair it with a fall treat. Chocolate Hazelnut with a slice of banana bread, Pecan Pie with a cinnamon roll, or Apple Cider Rooibos with an apple turnover.
