Coffee makers and Frappuccino's

Making Our Own Frappuccino-Style Drinks at Home ☕

Over the last few weeks, we decided we wanted to start making our own Frappuccino-style drinks at home. We got a little tired of buying them and thought… why not make them ourselves?

We started with the Mr. Coffee 3-in-1 Single-Serve Iced and Hot Coffee Maker + Blender. It's actually a nice little machine because it has a built-in blender, which makes it convenient for experimenting with iced and blended drinks.

Of course, we had to go all in. We bought cookie crumbles (because we love them at the bottom of the cup), different flavored drizzles, whipped cream, and everything else you need to make it feel like the real thing.

The first one tasted great… but the cream didn't thicken the way we wanted it to. After a little trial and error, we figured it out.

The One Downside

The only problem with the Mr. Coffee machine is that, as a single-serve brewer, it only makes an 8 oz cup at a time. Since we both like 16 oz Frappuccino-style drinks, that meant brewing twice for each drink. It started to feel like a bit of a hassle — especially when we wanted to make two drinks.

That's when we realized we needed something else.

Trying Something Bigger

We started looking into the Keurig K-Duo Hot & Iced Coffee Maker. What caught our attention was that it can brew up to 10 cups at a time — plenty of coffee for what we were trying to do.

The only thing it doesn't include is a built-in blender, so we picked up a separate blender to go with it.

After trying the Keurig Duo, we were impressed. We can now brew enough coffee at once to make two large Frappuccino-style drinks without having to brew multiple times. We let the coffee cool, add our ingredients into the blender, blend it up, top it with a little whipped cream, and it turns out great.

For our first round with the new setup, we used some Kenya coffee to make the drinks. It gave the Frapps a really nice, bold flavor. We'll definitely be trying another variety soon — maybe our Flavored Coffees Sample Pack or some Cold Brew Coffee for a smoother finish.

Final Thoughts

Don't get us wrong — the Mr. Coffee machine is good. It's perfect for one person who just wants a quick single serving. But for two people who both enjoy 16 oz blended drinks, the Keurig Duo setup works much better for us.

There's something satisfying about experimenting, learning what works, and dialing in your perfect drink at home. Honestly, that's part of the fun of coffee.

Now we're curious — what do you use to make your coffee at home? Are you a single-serve person, a full pot brewer, espresso machine, French press, or something else? And how do you like to drink it — hot, iced, blended, black, sweet, bold? Check out our full range of coffee capsules and coffee pods to find your perfect brew.

We'd love to hear what works for you.
